Spectacular Arena fashion show 2014
To present their summer collection for this year, Arena decided for a highly unconventional location, the Fort Lovrijenac in Dubrovnik, Croatia.
The AV MEDIA’s rental department succeeded in surpassing several BEST OFs in its production history and provided for an ultimate visitor experience.
Unique collaboration by the team of AV MEDIA
This year’s encounter of a hundred of key global distributors intended for the presentation of ARENA’s summer collection took place in Dubrovnik, Croatia. Already when inspecting the destination, it was clear that this year, our task would be far from easy. The easier part was the conference workshop at the Radisson Blue hotel in Orasac, which proved to be an ideal conference hotel offering all the necessary support.
However, many of the BEST OFs in the production history of our rental department were brought about by the main fashion show of this year’s summer collection, which traditionally took place outside the hotel, at an especially selected location.
OUTSIDE the Czech Republic
The place for this year’s show was the historical town of Dubrovnik in Croatia, the old town of which, where the show was to be performed, is a UNESCO heritage site. All the equipment carried to Dubrovnik from Prague in a 24 ton truck had to be reloaded to 2 smaller trucks on the spot. In the historical centre, we had to cope with narrow lanes, banned entry for heavy trucks, heritage protected buildings and an overcrowded parking lot.
WORST accessible location for a show
The Fort Lovrijenac can be accessed by 180 steps leading up and 35 steps leading down, with no other access path available. Therefore it was necessary to plan the carrying of the intended 5 tons of AV equipment and materials to the fort and back again the next day without giving it up in the middle because of total exhaustion, and without financially ruining our customer.
AT LEAST 30% chance of rain according to long-term forecast
Those not believing in long-term forecasts can be sure that our one revealed perfectly true. Only a part of the fort with chairs for guests was covered under the archway running around. From the very beginning, we had to plan the distribution of lighting and projection equipment on the ramparts so as to prevent their damaging. The projector was placed into a special case, covered with plastic sheets, lights could be covered to be protected against rain. It was raining during the 2 days of preparation. Miraculously, at 3 o’clock p.m. on the event day, the rain ceased and no drop of water disturbed the evening.
Biggest number of AV MEDIA personnel outside the Czech Republic, and the team? MOST relaxed and MOST performing
Altogether, 22 of our people have been assigned, present on site and accommodated. The team was able to cope with all uneasy situations (and they were not rare), working into nights, supporting 2 days of adverse weather and finding solutions for all the issues that occurred. 11 movers carried the 5 tons of equipment to the Fort Lovrijenac during a single day. Following a one day respite on the event day, they carried all the equipment back from the fort in a half day. Moreover, after their admirable performance, they were all smiles making believe that the job could be done once again.
Most beautiful choreography
Michal Caban, whom we have recommended to our client, succeeded in creating a resourceful mix of dancing and modelling choreography highly appreciated by all the guests. According to ARENA’s chief designer Robert, this was the BEST Arena show he had ever seen (and he had seen 62 of them).

From our part, our thanks also have to go to Guarant International providing for organization and reservation of the show location, catering, hostesses, choreographer, casting of models, transportation, accommodation and lot more. An excellent job was delivered by the project manager Alena Sanders with her Croatian speaking Miss Jasna hugely supporting the overall production.
