Digital competence and computational thinking

Measuring System PASCO develops students' key skills, including digital competence. Students can compare their hypotheses with real measurement results, work with graphs and present the results of their work. The system includes specialized sets of measurement probes, sensors and experimental accessories for different science subjects such as chemistry, biology, physics or environmental education. But it can also be used in vocational subjects. The truss building system offers students a realistic and practical way to understand the basic mechanical properties of building structures. The Material Properties Testing System, on the other hand, offers a complete yet affordable solution that can bring students closer to the topic at hand.

Sensors from PASCO are not just tools for measuring and monitoring natural phenomena and analyzing data from experiments. We are now extending this approach to science education to include an informatics dimension, bringing a real-life version of today's popular STE(A)M education. With the ability to link the measurement system to coding (programming), students can create codes in Blockly at any time and use PASCO sensor data as inputs to functional algorithms. This approach is fully aligned with the requirements of the revised RVP and the concept of 'new computer science', but most importantly it will prepare students for practice.
