We have brightened up the 2014 Sochi – Letná Olympic Park
We provided the unique project visited daily by thousands of people in the Letenské sady park with nearly 200 m2 of LED screens and 500 sustainable lights.
From 2012, AV MEDIA is an official supplier for the Czech Olympic Team. We participated for instance in the unique Olympic Park at Letná visited daily by thousands of people. The park was a place where the visitors could try out various winter sports, be entertained and, together with friends, cheer the Czech athletes partaking in the Olympic Games.
2014 Sochi - LETNÁ Olympic ParK
AV MEDIA was in charge of technical production and technological equipment of the park. Nearly 200 m2 of LED screens were installed throughout the premises, as well as several additional visualizers, on which the spectators could watch the success of the Czech Olympic Team. The park contained almost 500 environmentally friendly lights illuminating hockey fields, a snowboard trail, a curling sheet, a skating area, ice trails, walking paths and the stage. In addition to traditional luminaires, AV MEDIA used over 1.5 km of LED strips that illuminated the scenic bridge leading through the park and the unique ice trail, in order to make the experience of sporting visitors more delightful. All the outdoor equipment complied with the standards for outdoor use and the equipment was highly energy efficient. Thanks to using modern environmentally friendly equipment, the overall operation of the park saved up to 80 % of energy compared to using conventional luminaires.
SOCHI - CZECH HOUSE
AV MEDIA also contributed to this year’s Czech House directly in Sochi. On eight LCD displays and a projection surface, the visitors could watch live broadcasting and the success of Czech and international athletes. AV MEDIA provided for the sound, lighting and infrastructure of the entire Czech House. As the place of Olympic Games is situated at the edge of coverage by the Astra 3 satellite, AV MEDIA had to find a technological solution able to receive the Czech TV signal even at this remote location.
Successful partnership with Czech Olympic Committee
The partnership of AV MEDIA with the Czech Olympic Committee started already in connection with the designed Czech House in London at the Summer Olympic Games. We supported that project not only by modern audiovisual technologies, but we also took over the responsibility for the construction of the Czech House and the preparation of the visitor programme. As a technological partner, we had an opportunity to influence the atmosphere of significant events: celebrations of Czech successes, concerts by popular bands, interviews with Czech athletes or visits by sports celebrities.
At that time, we used 50 tons of audiovisual equipment, including giant panoramic projection or a large area screen composed of frameless LCDs admired by 80,000 visitors of the Czech House.
We were also there when the Czech Olympic Collection was presented or when the Nomination Council was convened.
The first event related to the Sochi Winter Olympic Games was the presentation of the Olympic Collection in the Municipal House in Prague. AV MEDIA was in charge of the complete technical support for the event. Our effect and scenic lighting, in particular of the ceiling and of the organ in the Smetana Hall of the Municipal House, created a perfect artistic atmosphere. AV MEDIA also provided for sound in the hall, as well as for the transmission of sound signal for the Czech Television. The projection on Molton (special projection fabric surface) in front of the organ and on the stage props presented a motif of lime tree leaves inspired by the art nouveau painter Alfons Mucha, thus underlining the exceptional nature of the collection.
The next event was the nomination of the Czech team, with the individual names being finally confirmed in the middle of January at the Prague Castle, where the Nomination Council of the Czech Olympic Committee was convened. Also in this case, AV MEDIA provided complete technical services, delivering a 3 × 3 m wall composed of frameless LCDs, sound and lighting for the entire hall including the transmission of signals for the Czech Television.
