How challenging is it to keep a multimedia language classroom up to date? Is the system itself sustainable? Absolutely yes, you will find the answers to the most common questions in this post.
We have 2 SmartClass Robotel multimedia language classrooms at our school, one of them even since 2017. So far we have not had to repair or replace anything in the classrooms, or only this year 2 keyboards. One went out on its own and the other one was destroyed by one of our students. The classrooms are used by all the classes in our school, so it is almost never empty and is fully used. Our teachers use the computers for all sorts of activities (mini projects, working with digital tools), but also the SmartClass system itself to conduct interviews, etc.
In order to have the classroom ready at the beginning of the school year, we have AV MEDIAprofilax check the setup in the summer. At the same time, we regularly have maintenance done. We also make sure that we have the latest version of the software, so if a new version of the software comes out, we always ask for an update so that we can use the latest functionality (new types of exercises, the ability to use AI, etc.).
In the beginning, we were worried about whether the additional 42 computers in total would overwhelm us, whether we would have too many technical problems, equipment replacement, etc. Fortunately, everything works as it should. After the installation, we had to contact AV MEDIA a couple of times because some things didn't work, and we often lacked experience. But now everything works without any problems and the classroom is almost maintenance free for us.
