Czech teams at the VEX Worlds
Two Czech teams participated in this year's VEX Worlds Robotics Championship. You can see how it went at www.vexworlds.tv.

The competition is open to primary and secondary school teams. Every May, the competition organizer - the American REC foundation - publishes the competition task. School teams design and program a robot, prepare a strategy for the matches. During the year, teams then participate in smaller, regional and larger, national competitions where they can further improve the robot, the strategy and their skills.

The team challenge is unique to VEX competitions. Invariably, two teams, who have often never met before, must agree on a course of action before a match in order to score the most points together.

The R.U.R. team from the Gymnasium in Jeseník www.facebook.com/R.U.R.team took part in the secondary school competition and the RoboTitans team from the Na Valech Primary School in Litoměřice took part in the primary school competition www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61554355721424.

Both teams finished in the top half of the results list in a tough competition between American and Chinese teams. However, both teams managed to improve on their results from previous competitions at the World Championships. But the most important thing is the experience that the teams have gained, which no one can take away from them. Teams and individual students also take away contacts and friendships with teams from all over the world.
