New expositions in the buildings of the Czech Cottage and the Fishery
Průhonice Park opened the season in style
The aim of the project was to make the newly reconstructed small buildings in the park accessible to visitors and to create a space that will increase the attractiveness of the national cultural monument and UNESCO site Průhonický park and castle.
The Rybarna area offers visitors two exhibitions. The aim of the exhibition located in the wooden part of the Fishpond is to make the visitor feel the life of the water realm and feel part of it. The designed scenography allows visitors to get to know not only what is happening above the water, but also the life below it, in a fun and educational way. In this part of the exhibition, visitors are primarily introduced to the theme of the aquatic ecosystem of flowing and standing waters. The role of the narrator, who guides visitors through the topic, is played by the figure of a fisherman. This is stylized as a 2D mannequin placed on a fishing boat.
The entire space is designed so that upon entering the exhibition, the visitor feels as if they have just found themselves halfway under the water's surface. Children can hide under the elevation while discovering and learning about the mysteries of the aquatic realm. If visitors want to look around the "landscape" (the exhibition space), they can climb the stairs to the wooden pier, from where they can observe the trees lining the landscape, the water surface, the fishermen on the boat, and even the cycle of life of the water kingdom.
The wooden part of the Fishery is followed by its brick part, which is to serve primarily as a play area for children. At the same time, there is an exhibition on the history of the gardens, which is designed as a "window into the history of the creation of gardens and parks".The landscape design principles of the park's founder, which have made the park a unique place, rightfully inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, are presented here.
The Bohemian Cottage is located at the beginning of the second part of the park near the entrance to the Grove.Visitors can relax here in the picturesque romantic setting, play a fairy tale quiz and learn about the fairy tales in which this magical cottage has starred. On your way to the Czech Cottage, you can enjoy the new family game "Fairytale Průhonický park"", which will guide you through the places where the fairy tales were filmed.
