One of The Best Summer Music Festivals - Colours of Ostrava
The fifteenth annual jubilee of the multi-genre music festival Colours of Ostrava was held in the middle of July, which has long been one of the largest and best in the Czech Republic.
Colours of Ostrava is an internationally-known music festival, so it is no wonder that the British newspaper The Guardian ranked it among the Top 10 summer music festivals this year. This corresponded with a rich programme, which took place in twenty scenes. The biggest attraction of this year’s Colours of Ostava was Passenger, a British singer-songwriter with an unmistakable voice, Tame Impala from Australia, Ireland’s Kodaline and the electro legends Underworld. While visitors were plagued by tropical heat and dust clouds in previous years, the weather this year served up the opposite extreme. The cold and especially the steady rain forced the visitors to wade through the mud and Ostrava was dubbed “the Silesian Glastonbury”. Even that did not stop more than forty thousand visitors to the festival from enjoying it the fullest, literally to the last drop.
On the contrary, more than one wrinkle was caused for the organizers and technical staff this year. “It was the most difficult year for us to date, and only thanks to the fact that many people from the organizing team did not sleep we managed to get everything done,” said festival director Zlata Holušová. She also praised the team of sound engineers who kept the sound at the highest level, as well as the festival production.
YVENTECH, a member of the AV Media group, has been a long-term video partner of the festival. The 35-member team operated the Full HD robotic cameras and all projections including 256m2 of LED screens. It also completely arranged the completely new MELTINGPOT at the festival, which was an international discussion forum in which discussions took place on various topics such as current policy, economics, science, design, philosophy and much more.
RentalPRO completely provided the technology for the second stage of probably the most prestigious, domestic music festival. The superior sound was managed thanks to the excellent Nexo STM modular system. Besides the sound system, there were 32 electric chain hoists and lighting equipment. Among the 181 lights it is definitely worth mentioning the excellent JB-Lighting P4 and ROBE Square. LED Color WEB, which completed the lighting atmosphere.
AV MEDIA also took part in the event, taking care of the lighting and sound at the Captain Morgan chill out zone. JBL speakers and Robe lighting were used in the entertainment tent.
If you missed this year’s festival, do not despair. You can already look forward to the sixteenth year of the festival, which will take place from 19 to 22 July 2017.
