Olympic Nomination of Czech Athletes
The line-up of the Czech team was unveiled at Prague Castle in mid-July along with the officially approved expedition to the Olympic Games, which begin in Rio de Janeiro on 5th of August.
106 Czech athletes are going the opening ceremony of the Games at the Maracaná stadium in Rio de Janeiro. The expedition was approved by a plenum of the Czech Olympic Committee, which met on 12 July in the Rudolf Gallery in Prague Castle. The athletes nominated to the Olympic Games in the Rudolf Gallery were presented in colourful hats, white trousers or skirts and striped blazers. Among the nominations are all four gold medallists from London - javelin thrower Barbora Špotáková, sculler Miroslava Topinková Knapková, modern pentathlete David Svoboda and the winner of the cross country mountain bike race, Jaroslav Kulhavý.
