VEX Robotics and the related robotics competitions are not just about the world of programming for children. Participation in competitions develops complex skills - from collaborative search for a solution to a given task, through the design and construction of the robot, to its programming and subsequent presentation of the work in front of an expert jury.
Our experience clearly shows that teams that participate in more than one competition during the season make more progress. Another significant shift in development can be seen in teams that are not afraid to go beyond the borders of the Czech Republic. And this year we have seen a really big interest in international competitions.
In February, a bus full of enthusiastic Czech pupils went to GeekWeek in Ludbreg, Croatia. In the strong competition of teams from Europe and Asia, our representatives stood up well:
Hiduribots from Česká Lípa won an excellent 3rd place in the Teamwork category.
Božkobots from Český Těšín took home the prestigious Judges Award.
Another international stop was the competition in Riihimäki, Finland, where teams from primary and secondary schools competed. Even in even more challenging competition, the Czech teams were successful:
R.U.R. team from Jeseník deservedly won the Judges Award.
Boys in black from Hrádek nad Nisou won the Sportsmanship Award.
Wildbees from Velvar brought home the Energy Award.

And that's not all!
In May, the DoxVex team from Doksy will face a big challenge - they will fly to Dallas, USA, where they will take part in the VEX Worlds, the world championship in robotics. Let's keep our fingers crossed!
